19/100 Fun

The last time I had fun was with friends. Closer to acquaintances. The more effort and time you put into relationships, the more no-so-fun baggage will come along. It’s how we handle it.
Let’s say you choose a major. Then you build a career out of it. It won’t be fun, even if the major was Ice Cream tasting. The sports players, movie stars, Jeff Bezos..all had a significant amout of blood, sweat and tears to carve out a masterpiece. At the end of Whiplash, there is a drummer consumed by his madness. Blood on fingers. If you like to have fun, you are not willing to commit. By definition, fun means amusement, or to joke.
Maybe this is why I have not been smiling often. I forgot to make jokes. I was too serious with school and the future that I forgot to joke about my future and the put-students-in-debt school system. I forgot to frolic my way to the gym and eat ice cream!
I want a good life. What is good?
- Being positive or desirable in nature; not bad or poor.
- Having the qualities that are desirable or distinguishing in a particular thing.
- Serving the desired purpose or end; suitable.
What is to be great? Am I willing to sacrifice to become great? To what extent can I be cheerful with the process that it takes to be great?
Happy is correlated with lucky, unexpected fortune. So basically, it’s not upto us. Happiness unexpected happens.
The last words I heard from my grandma was to live brightly. When you set your goals too high, you will never be happy, because great things just don’t drop out of the sky. You need hours of darkness and madness to become great, or the greatest. When you are always in the shadow looking into the light, nothing can change. Step out of the shadow, and walk into the light.
